‘Research And Evaluation On Amount Of Marine Debris Collected By Different Types Of Fishing Gears During The Fishing Activities At Sea’ is an Activity 2.2 under the core project entitled “Regional Collaborative Research and Capacity Building for Monitoring and Reduction of Marine Debris from Fisheries in Southeast Asia”. The main objective of Activity 2.2 is to categorized the composition and amount of marine debris collected by using different types of fishing gears during fishing activity at sea. The sampling areas are comprising of Terengganu and Kelantan waters using five types of fishing gears namely monsoon season trawl net; trammel net; anchored bottom gill net; trawl net Zone B; and trawl net Zone C for each country respectively. All marine debris will be sorted out from the total catch, categorized, counted, and weighted.
